Maame Abena Boateng didn’t arrive at tech through a traditional route. As a Public Health and Applied Statistical Modeling student at the University of Texas at Austin, she brought a perspective that most engineering programs don’t produce: one shaped by an understanding of people, systems, and the gaps that technology can either widen or close.

For Paige Caskey, Break Through Tech’s AI Program equipped her with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to pursue a career in the tech industry. She launched her career as an Associate Applied AI/ML Scientist and a 2025–2026 Break Through Tech Fellow Ambassador.

Through Break Through Tech’s AI Program, Precious, a senior at Eastern New Mexico University majoring in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering, discovered his passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning. Now serving as a 2025–2026 Fellow Ambassador, he has found clarity in his career path and purpose in inspiring others.

Together, Alkermes and a team of our AI Program Fellows explored how modeling and informatics can support critical stages of research, target identification, compound nomination, and the broader process of drug discovery.
